The need for an Indian supply chain but with unique commitments such as Fair Trade
With 3 harvests a year, India is the leading producer of gherkins sold in France. The volumes of Indian gherkins are necessary to meet French demand and to keep the French industrial apparatus running all year round, thus maintaining stable jobs.
Since 2021, the company has also held the Fair Trade label for its Jardin d'Orante brand. This is an exclusivity for pickles such as gherkins and baby corn that only Reitzel has been able to obtain.
